Caulfield Cup-winning jockey Danny Nikolic has pleaded not guilty to allegations he threatened the life of Racing Victoria's chief steward.
Nikolic is facing two Racing Victoria charges stemming from a race meeting at Seymour on September 4.
Chief Steward Terry Bailey alleges Nikolic approached him, swore a number of times and said "we've all got families and we know where yours lives."
Nikolic this morning pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Bailey has given evidence to the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board saying he felt intimidated and threatened so told Nikolic to pack his bags and go home.
Nikolic remains suspended from racing indefinitely.
If the charges are proven, he's expected to appeal against that suspension.
Nikolic's lawyer Sandy Robertson told the Board panel that Nikolic is being portrayed as the "fall guy" responsible for a decline in betting turnover in Victoria.
"I will be calling evidence that...members of Racing Victoria want (Nikolic) out of the industry," Robertson said at the hearing.
The hearing continues.
