Two Indonesian people smugglers will be flown home within a fortnight after being sentenced in the Victorian County Court.
29 year old Nasrudin Ahmed and 49 year old Sarimin Abang pleaded guilty to crewing a boat carrying 76 passengers that was intercepted off Ashmore Island in January 2011.
Abang who was steering the vessel when it was intercepted by the navy has been sentenced to three years jail, to serve a minimum 20 months.
Ahmed was sentenced to 20 months jail with a non parole period of 10 months.
Both men have already served 20 months in custody and will now be returned home.
