The Education Union is warning the State Government not to ignore today's TAFE protest.
The rally is part of a 24-hour strike by TAFE staff over government budget cuts of $300 million.
The union's Mary Bluett says a document leaked to the ABC last week revealed the extent of the damage, including the closure and sale of campuses and further cuts to courses.
She says their concerns need to be taken seriously.
"We are not going to be silent in the face of such massive cuts on our TAFEs," she said.
"If the Government doesn't listen to the community, they do so at their peril because this campaign will continue right up to the next state election.
Yesterday, Acting Premier Peter Ryan appealed to the workers to call off the strike and to let the process run its course.
But Ms Bluett says there is too much at stake.
"We cannot go with the process. The leaked documents confirm the depth of the impact," she said.
"Over 300,000 people rely on TAFE every year for their education and training and pathway to employment."
