Man injured following police pursuit

A man has been taken to hospital with minor injuries after crashing his car following a police chase in the state's west last night.

Police say the brief pursuit was called off before the man's car crashed into a bridge on the Henty Highway at McKenzies Creek, near Horsham.

The 24-year-old Horsham man was taken to the Wimmera Base Hospital.

The police ethical standards department is investigating.
