Melbourne Storm forward Jason Ryles is expected to miss the rest of the season after tearing his hamstring in training on Tuesday night.
Ryles had not played for the Storm since picking up a hamstring injury in the Storm's round 25 clash with Cronulla.
He was drafted into Melbourne's preliminary final squad to add some firepower to the Storm's forward pack against Manly, with both sides anticipating a highly physical contest.
However there are now fears the former St George Illawarra and Roosters star could struggle to return to competitive action, with the 33-year-old plagued by a succession of injuries.
