Dame Elisabeth Murdoch hospitalised after fall

Dame Elisabeth Murdoch, a Melbourne philanthropist and the mother of News Limited boss Rupert Murdoch, is in hospital after suffering a fall.

Dame Elisabeth, who is 103, is believed to have suffered a broken leg in the incident at her home at Langwarrin, in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs.

Members of the family, including Mr Murdoch, have been visiting her in hospital.

A family spokesman has thanked well wishers on Dame Elisabeth's behalf and has requested privacy while she continues treatment.
